What is somatic experiencing?

1 - We are human animals. Our nervous system is designed to survive, to thrive. We have built within us the wisdom, intelligence, and capacity to overcome difficult situations.

2- But we also have developed this really huge, beautiful prefrontal cortex, and it sometimes gets in the way of the basic survival responses. It is like having two different systems under one roof that are still learning to synchronize and work together.

3- The good news is that we can use this same beautiful intellect to bring our attention to the body, which gives us a window into the nervous system and its survival responses. There lives the health, the energy that knows what to do, that knows how to get out of the stuck place. It is not always easy to do alone, and that's why I'm here. Feel free to contact me.
